Arlington Commission on the Status of Women 50th Anniversary
The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and we are planning to honor CSW alumni at a special event on October 23, 2024.
With this event, we’d also like to tell the story of the commission and its commissioners that have advanced initiatives supporting women and girls in Arlington over the decades. We have a pretty remarkable story to tell, but we need your help telling it. Using this Google form, CSW alumni and friends can reach out to current commissioners to share stories, memories, and photos and support our outreach campaign.

NAACP Candidate Forum
Hear directly from local candidates running in the upcoming General Election on how they will prioritize issues affecting Black and other people of color in Arlington if they are elected. This structured and moderated event will help inform community members where the candidates stand on issues such as criminal justice, housing, education, economic development, and community engagement.
The Arlington Candidate Forum will take place after our monthly General Membership Meeting starting at 6:30 pm. We look forward to seeing you at the forum and at the polls during early voting or on General Election Day Tuesday, November 5th!

ASEAC
All ASEAC meetings are open to the public, parents, teachers, and community members are welcome to attend. Every month, the committee sets aside time to hear the concerns of parents of students with disabilities. If you wish to speak to the committee, or join in committee discussions, simply attend a meeting. You are encouraged to let one of the officers know ahead of time so they can set aside enough time on the agenda, but that is not required.

Climate Crisis Forum Reception
Be part of an important conversation on how Northern Virginia schools are tackling the climate crisis and empowering students to take action!
This event features two dynamic panel discussions:
Northern Virginia Superintendents: How their districts are leading efforts in sustainability, energy efficiency, and climate education and how the community can support further action.
Student Climate Activists: Young leaders voicing why climate action matters to them and how their school districts can help them reach their goals.
This is our 8th annual Climate Crisis Forum and our first focused on Green Schools for Sustainable Communities.

Red Wine and Blue’s Parents Not Politics
Join Red Wine & Blue, We the People For Education, 4 Public Education and the VEA for our 2024 "Parents Not Politics" tour which features candid and critical conversations between school board members and candidates, parents, and students about the ongoing threat of extremism on local school boards and how these efforts to push a radical, far-right agenda harms our children and undermines public education.

League of Women Voters Candidate Forum
The League of Women Voters of Arlington and Alexandria City, along with co-sponsors Virginia Women's Council, Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy, and National Council of Jewish Women, invite you to our 'candidating' event!
What is candidating? Think of these forums like speed dating! Each candidate will sit at a separate table, and voters will have 10 to 15 minutes with each candidate to ask questions. Once the 15 minutes is up, voters will rotate to a new table until all voters have had a chance to meet the candidates. This means you'll have direct access to candidates to talk about the issues you care about the most.
This event will feature candidates for Arlington County Board and Arlington County School Board.

School Board Work Session
Work Sessions are live-streamed and can be viewed any time after the meeting by visiting the School Board Work Sessions webpage. Agendas and background information are posted one week prior to the Board Meeting on BoardDocs.
